21HPFT football team needs you! With spring on the way, the HPFT football team is giving you a reason to get off the sofa and pull on your football boots! We are looking for new players and encouraging any interested members of staff across the Trust to come along, enjoy a kick around and get fit. We have been running a weekly HPFT football evening for nearly two years now and despite a sustained level of interest and a good core of regular players we are always looking to increase the numbers. All abilities are welcome and it is a great way to have fun and let off some steam after a hard day at work! The team plays every Tuesday evening at the Gosling Sports Centre from 6-7pm, and are hoping to move to Hertfordshire Sports Village (opposite Hatfield Galleria) in the summer. If you are interested in taking part or finding out more, please contact either david.flint@hertspartsft.nhs.uk or akiff.ahmed@hertspartsft.nhs.ukMany thanks and we look forward to seeing new members! We would also be interested to know if there are any other football teams within HPFT and whether you are looking for new members and would like us to promote the details on our Health and Wellbeing pages of our intranet or in future issues of the HPFT news bulletin. As part of the Trust health and wellbeing programme, HPFT is looking at setting up a staff choir to give staff an opportunity to get involved in an activity outside of work. Choirs are a hot topic at the moment with everyone getting involved in singing! You don't even have to be a great singer to take part - it's a sociable activity more than anything! We welcome any members of staff interested in giving it a go. However we cannot start until we have a good representation of men. So we are particularly looking for male choir members to make sure we have all sections covered. For any enquiries please contact james.holland@hertspartsft.nhs.ukWednesday 14 March was national No Smoking Day and the theme this year was 'Take the Leap'. If you would like to take the leap to stop smoking now or know of someone who would like to try, there are many methods of help and support available via Hertfordshire NHS Stop Smoking Service. Call 0800 389 3 998 or visit the website at: www.smokefreehertfordshire.nhs.uk The service has also linked up with the Trust to offer staff who would like to give up smoking the opportunity to attend a stop smoking group where you will receive free help and support to stop smoking.
