There have also been some excellent performances from Laura Robson, reaching a career high ranking of 146 at the age of 17. Eleanor Dean won her first 10k women's event in the summer, at the age of 15. Heather Watson reached 87 in the world and competed at three of the four Grand Slams.Dedication and persistence will be needed to make sure these results keep getting better and that promising juniors have the best chance of making the transition to the senior game. The performance department is always looking for new ways to give British players a winning edge.£12MILLION(£13.4 MILLION IN 2010)£12m was invested in performance this year, down from £13.4m last year.
