PARTICIPATIONPROMOTIONThe allplay challengeTo help get the allplay campaign up and running, four well-known personalities were recruited to showcase the benefits of tennis. Lorraine Kelly, Tim Lovejoy, Denise Lewis and Jamie Theakston, all tennis novices, have been in training since June to prepare for a match against their fellow allplay challengers at the AEGON Masters at the end of the year. You can catch up with their progress and watch interviews with the challengers at allplaytennis.com.Bringing together the places, people and programmes to show how tennis is a fun, affordable, family sport which is a great way to get fit. A key element of our promotion work is allplay, our national campaign to help more people play tennisInvestment in this area goes into creating awareness of tennis opportunities among the general public, making it easy for people to find local facilities and understand what activities are available when they get there. This investment is channelled through the tennis network to promote participation including membership, technical support and communications including publications and digital media. This year also saw the launch of allplay, a national campaign to help more people play tennis. Here we take a look at what's been happening with the allplay campaign so far and some of the other activity that has been going on to promote tennis opportunities across the country.allplayThe national allplay campaign, launched in June this year, has been helping thousands of people across the country pick up their rackets and play tennis. People can go to the website, allplaytennis.com, register and start looking for local places to play and people to play with. So far 7,000 people have registered for free and over 1,000 games have been played at local parks, clubs and tennis centres up and down the country. The campaign has also been supporting the people who are involved in delivering tennis in clubs and in the community such as coaches, club managers and volunteers. These people can access support through the resource section of the website.NUMBER OF TENNIS VENUE SEARCHES MADE USING ALLPLAYTENNIS.COM30,00012

Facebook and Twitter especially are promoting tennis to new audiences and encouraging people to interact with the sport and each other in new ways. British Tennis QuarterlySpring saw the first issue of British Tennis Quarterly (BTQ), a publication designed to support those involved in tennis and promote opportunities for them to do more. It's a benefit of registration and as such is delivered for free to all registered tennis venues four times a year, whilst all British Tennis Members receive a digital version. Although new it is already having success in raising awareness of the range of opportunities within the sport to it's growing readership.FOLLOWERS OF BRITISH TENNIS ON TWITTERWIN TICKETS!Your chance to win one of five pairs of tickets to the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals at The O2 arena.
