JOHN MARSHALL - FROM TRAINEE TO SENIOR PARTNERI came straight from Chester College of Law, having read law at Durham University, and was keen to start work. I can honestly say if anyone had told me I would have as enjoyable and exciting a career I would not have believed them. This was capped in April 2010 when I was elected Senior Partner, a position I am very proud to hold. In this role, I am lucky enough to spend much of my time with clients and target clients promoting the firm, as well as making sure we always deliver the highest possible levels of service.I chose Dickinson Dees as a place to work, after a stint of work experience, for the same reason as many of our clients - the people. Of course the opportunity to do high quality work for approachable, supportive and respected lawyers also figured highly too!Much has changed at Dickinson Dees in my time and now we are about to embark on the next stage of our development. Our Leeds office opens in early 2012 and we are increasing our presence in London. Exciting times. And times you can share with us if, like me, you recognise the opportunities working for a firm like ours offers. We want to recruit for the long term. We aim to develop our future partners and leaders of the business from amongst our own. My career has been testament to this and, of the seven trainees who joined that day 22 years ago, four are still with the business and playing key roles in their teams and departments.Dickinson Dees is a great place to be and an exciting and challenging place to work. If you are ambitious and motivated, I hope you will apply to join us and become part of our future success.I CAN SCARCELY BELIEVE IT IS 22 YEARS AGO THAT I FIRST STEPPED INTO DICKINSON DEES' OFFICES IN MY NEW SUIT TO START LIFE AS A TRAINEE SOLICITOR. 3
