50LTA Player GuideLTA >Ken SkupskiKen is one of GB's top doubles players. After winning his first Futures title in 2004, he went to the US on a tennis scholarship to study General Studies at Louisiana State University. He graduated in May 2007 and went on to win a further 24 titles, 3 of which were won at ATP events. In 2009, Ken enjoyed one of the best wins of his career when he and partner Colin Fleming beat the world No.1 doubles pair the Bryan brothers at the AEGON Championships. He followed this by winning his first ATP tournament in Metz (September 2009), shortly followed by another ATP title in St. Petersburg. In the summer of 2010, Ken reached the final of the AEGON International and in doing so broke into the world's top 50 for the first time. Other highlights in 2010 included reaching the semi-finals of Chennai, reaching the second round of the Australian Open, winning the AEGON Trophy and making the second round of Wimbledon. In the same year he made his Davis Cup debut against Lithuania, and then played his second tie against Turkey. At the end of 2010 he competed at the Commonwealth Games for England where he won the silver in the men's doubles and the mixed doubles bronze. Ken is a big fan of Liverpool FC. He made his ATP tour debut in June 2008 when he played at the 2008 Nottingham Open. He has played doubles at Wimbledon in 2008, 2009 and 2010, making the second round in 2009. He was awarded a wildcard into the qualifying events for the singles in 2009 where he recorded his first singles win in a Grand Slam qualifying tournament.
