18LTA Player GuideLTA >Alex BogdanovicAlex was born in Belgrade and moved to England when he was 8-years-old. After initially being persuaded by a friend to try tennis, he started playing regularly on the international junior circuit in 1999 during which his best results were reaching the semi-finals of the US Open juniors and at the Banana Bowl in 2001. He finished the year as No.14 in world junior rankings. Now at 27-years-old, "Boggo" has made eight consecutive appearances at Wimbledon between 2002 and 2009 where he faced the likes of Roger Federer (2004), Rafael Nadal (2006) and Thomas Berdych (2009) in the first rounds. In 2003 he made his Davis Cup debut for GB, then in 2004 he made his only other Grand Slam appearance outside of Wimbledon at the US Open. He has since played in five Davis Cup ties, and was selected as part of Britain's Davis Cup squad for the tie against Tunisia in March although he did not play in any of the rubbers. This year started off well for Alex who has spent much of 2011 practising and competing in the USA. He won a Futures tournament in Tamarac, USA in January and was runner-up at another Futures event in Little Rock, Arizona.2011 Singles Activity:January 2r Plantation ITF, Won Tamarac ITF, 1r Weston ITF March QF Bath ITF, 1r Bath CH Qualifying March QF Oklahoma ITF April R/U Little Rock ITF2011 Doubles Activity:January QF Plantation ITF (w/T.Nugent) Year End rankings: Singles 2010 2009 2008 2007 2006 2005 2004 2003 2002 2001 2000 290 164 183 161 123 203 197 276 481 727 -GRAND SLAM RECORD W-L 11 10 09 08 07 06 05 04 03 02 01Australian Open - - - - - - - - - - - -French Open - - - - - - - - - - - -Wimbledon 0/8 - - 1r 1r 1r 1r 1r 1r 1r 1r -US Open 0/1 - - - - - - - 1r - - -Born: 22.05.1984Plays: Left-handedLives: LondonTrains: Riverside, Chiswick Saddlebrook, FloridaCareer Titles (singles): 11 ITFCareer Titles (doubles): 0Coach: N/ATurned Pro: 20022011 Win-Loss: 14-5Career Prize Money: $642,0022011 Prize Money: $3,928Highest Ranking: 108 (June 2007)Website: www.alexbogdanovic.com
