14LTA Player GuideLTA >Jamie BakerJamie won his first ITF singles title in 2005 and made his ATP Tour debut a year later at the AEGON Championships which he followed up with his first ever appearance at The Championships, Wimbledon. In the same year he made his Davis Cup debut for GB and has gone on to compete in five ties, most recently against Tunisia in March this year. He won a total of 7 ITF singles titles, before being struck down with a potentially life threatening virus. The medical problems coincided with Jamie's climb to his highest position in the British rankings, in second place behind Andy Murray and reaching a world career high of 211 at the end of 2007. After a lengthy lay-off with serious illness, Jamie is back in action and working his way up the rankings and has won a further three Futures events.2011 Singles Activity:January QF Glasgow ITF, SF Antalya ITF, 1r Antalya ITF February 1r Wolfsgang ITF Qualifying March 2r Guangzhou China CH Qualifying, QF Pinggou CH Qualifying, 2r Oklahoma ITF April SF Little Rock ITF2011 Doubles Activity:N/A Year End rankings: Singles 2010 2009 2008 2007 2006 2005 2004 2003 2002 2001 2000 369 315 360 227 322 387 699 - - - -GRAND SLAM RECORD W-L 11 10 09 08 07 06 05 04 03 02 01Australian Open 0/1 - - - 1r - - - - - - -French Open - - - - - - - - - - - -Wimbledon 0/4 - 1r - 1r 1r 1r - - - - -US Open - - - - - - - - - - - -Born: 05.08.1986Plays: Right-handedLives: GlasgowTrains: NTCCoach: Nick WealCareer Titles (singles): 10 ITFCareer Titles (doubles): 5 ITFTurned Pro: 20032011 Win-Loss: 10-7Career Prize Money: $250,1722011 Prize Money: $2,418Highest Ranking: 211 (November 2007)Twitter: @J_A_Baker

GuideLTA Player Guide15>Elena BaltachaBally has been at the forefront of British women's tennis for nearly a decade. At the age of 27, she has battled through illness and injury and is now enjoying the best few years of her career under the close guidance of her coach Nino Severino, her fitness trainer Ben Haining and physio Alisdair Jones. She made her Wimbledon debut ten years ago and at the Grand Slams has made three third round appearances, two in Australia and one at Wimbledon. But it has really been the last two years in which the former British National Junior Champion has fulfilled her potential, having broken into the world's top 50 for the first time in her career in September 2010 and established herself on the WTA Tour. During this spell, she has enjoyed some momentous victories, including three wins over top ten players against Zheng Jie and Na Li twice as well as defeating the then reigning French open champion Francesca Schiavone. She has also battled her way to three WTA quarter-finals, one of which was in Eastbourne and captured nine ITF singles titles. 2010 was the first year she competed in all four Grand Slams, having made the main draw by right. Bally continues to be a part of the GB Fed Cup team, having contested 33 Fed Cup ties since 2002. This year she travelled with the team to Eilat, Israel although injury ruled her out of the tie. Born in Ukraine, Bally was raised in Paisley and now resides in Ipswich. 2011 Singles Activity:January 2r Hobart, 2r Australian Open February 2r Pattaya City, 1r Dubai, 2r Doha qualifying March 2r Indian Wells, 2r Miami2011 Doubles Activity:N/A Year End rankings: Singles 2010 2009 2008 2007 2006 2005 2004 2003 2002 2001 2000 1999 55 89 136 187 347 122 202 373 157 242 397 880GRAND SLAM RECORD W-L 11 10 09 08 07 06 05 04 03 02 01Australian Open 6/5 2r 3r 2r - - - 3r - 1r - -French Open 0/1 N/A 1r - - - - - - - - -Wimbledon 5/9 N/A 1r 2r 2r 1r - 1r 2r 1r 3r 1rUS Open 1/2 N/A 2r - - - - - - - - -Born: 14.08.1983Plays: Right-handedLives: IpswichTrains: Culford Tennis AcademyCoach: Nino SeverinoCareer Titles (singles): 9 ITFCareer Titles (doubles): 4 ITFTurned Pro: 19972011 Win-Loss: 6-7Career Prize Money: $798,5432011 Prize Money: $67,081Highest Ranking: 49 (September 2010)Agent: The Emilia GroupTwitter: @ElenaBaltachaWebsite: www.elena-baltacha.com
