"It is the most significant learning project I've ever been involved with." Senior Leader at Chalfonts College on Accentuate's Gaming! projectLegacy Trust UK: Annual Review 2010/115

Case studyFive Ring CircusNE GenerationNorth East EnglandStevie joined Five Ring Circus shortly before starting college. His enthusiasm for circus was infectious and he encouraged friends to start learning circus skills. However, at the same time he faced significant personal problems and mental health issues. He feels that circus is a true lifeline and that the circus community is supportive in helping to distract him from his troubles and stay the course at college, which was in jeopardy due to the problems he was facing.Stevie represents the passion many at Five Ring Circus feel about their art and what a difference circus can make to someone who is struggling as he enters an independent adult life. The team is hopeful that he will remain a vibrant part of their circus community, helping it grow beyond 2012.264,489children and young people were involved in Legacy Trust UK funded projects in 2010/11.SummaryOur projects have had real impact on many participants. New possibilities have been presented, goals have been achieved, horizons have been widened and in some cases, new directions in life have been taken. We know this because the children and young people involved in our projects have told us so. We can't fit all the case studies and testimonials our projects have produced on these pages, but they are available on our website."I thought art was boring but now I recognise it's really fun if you put your mind to it."Tate Movie Project truck tour participant, Darlington6Legacy Trust UK: Annual Review 2010/11
