Extensive Substrate RoofsA traditional extensive substrate system provides for a greater depth of growing medium, thus allowing the use of a broader range of species, which may be installed by different methods, including plug planting, vegetation mat and hydroplanting.Plug PlantingThis method allows for individual immature plants or 'plugs' to be planted out into the substrate by hand which will then grow on to give good cover over the next two full growing seasons.VEGETATION MatThe installation of a pre-cultivated vegetation mat gives instant greening to the roof whilst also providing an increased water retention capacity for the system.HydroplantingThis is a fast, economical and practical method for vegetating larger roof areas.
