Rigid Polyurethane Foam Insulation (PUR AND PIR)Rigid Polyurethane (PUR) and polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation are highly effective, lightweight and dimensionally stable. They are the most commonly used insulation products in flat roof applications with a warm roof design. RIGID PURThis is made by reacting a liquid polyol component with Methylene Diphenol di-Isocyanate (MDI) in the presence of a blowing agent and other additives. When the components react, heat is given off and the mixture expands to form a rigid thermosetting polymer. During the process, the blowing agent evaporates and a closed-cell, low density insulation product is created. The thermal properties are achieved because the gas trapped within the closed-cell structure has a very low thermal conductivity and there is minimal heat conduction through the solid cell walls.RIGID PIRThis form of insulation differs slightly from PUR in that an excess of MDI is used with a catalyst so that the excess reacts with itself to form isocyanurate. This product has greater heat stability, reduced combustibility and higher working temperature limits compared to PUR. These properties allow the insulation to meet more demanding fire performance requirements.ROOF INSULATIONThe PUR and PIR insulation for flat roofs is produced as boards with excellent thermal performance, which are easy to handle and install. The insulation has excellent dimensional stability and compressive strength, which enables it to withstand foot-traffic without depression, unlike some other insulation products used for flat roofing. This form of insulation has many benefits:n Superior thermal performance.n Low density.n Closed-cell structure.n High compressive strength.n Meets a wide range of fire performance requirementsn Improved energy efficiency to reduce CO2 emissions and lower energy bills.n Lightweight, making it easy to handle and install.n Reduced transportation costs.BauderPIR Insulation with rebated edges interlockingINSULATION19011 bauder.co.uk Bauder Tapered PIR InsulationThis is a lightweight, convenient and cost effective alternative method of providing falls to a roof instead of incorporating them into the structure, whilst also providing thermal insulation. A tapered insulation scheme is ideal for improving drainage falls on refurbishment projects. Our technical team can design bespoke tapered insulation schemes for individual projects and provide advice for flat roof fall design.Thermotech InsulationThermotech is a PIR insulation fully compatible with our Thermofol systems and is available as both flat board and tapered where improved falls are required, with a choice of glass tissue or foil facing.MINERAL FIBRE InsulationRock wool is manufactured from volcanic rock, with added coke and limestone. At a temperature 1500?C the molten rock is spun into fibres, which are bonded together with a binder and cured with hot air. Whilst the product is curing it is compressed to the required thickness and density.BauderROCKThis mineral fibre insulation is available for a clients with a preference for this type of insulation. It is non-combustible and has a zero GWP and ODP rating. It is suitable for all warm roof systems and can be supplied with various facings to allow it to be used with bitumen and single ply membranes.102BAUDER INSULATION FOR WARM ROOFSBauder PIR InsulationThis Bauder manufactured insulation is a closed-cell rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) board. It is both strong and inert and has a compressive strength of minimum 0.12N/mm² making it suitable for all kinds of load bearing decks. The low thermal conductivity allows for the insulation to be of a reduced thickness compared to many other well known insulants, such as mineral wool or cellular glass.KEY FEATURESn High index PIR.n Provides superior performance throughout the life cycle of a flat roof.n CFC and HCFC free giving zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) with a GWP (Global Warming Potential) of 3CO2 - Eq/Kg. n Excellent airborne sound reduction, helping to curtail noise pollution.n Self extinguishing in the event of fire.n Water absorption rate of just 2% vol at the surface as the closed cell structure does not permit capillary action.n Low thermal conductivity.n Excellent life cycle attributes.BauderPIR Flatboard InsulationThis insulation is faced with mineralised glass fibre to allow for efficient bonding with hot bitumen or Bauder Insulation Adhesive. It can be used in all of our Reinforced Bitumen Membrane systems as well as our Synthetic Single Ply systems.BauderPIR FA-TE InsulationThis insulation is faced on both sides with aluminium foil to further increase thermal efficiency. As a comparison, a 120 mm BauderPIR FA-TE board provides the same Thermal value as a 140 mm BauderPIR boardThe FA-TE insulation is utilised in our BTRS DUO build-up, System Airtech and can also be used in mechanically fixed Single Ply systems.Bauder PIR Flatboard Insulation available in thicknesses from 30 to 160 mm as standard.BauderPIR FA-TE Insulation available in thicknesses from 30 to 140 mmas standard*Bauder Tapered PIR Insulation showing the measurements in board height.BauderROCK T.O. Insulation available in thicknesses from 50 mm upwards*Thickness up to 200 mm on request. Boards can be build up on site.bauder.ie |
